Today, we ended up going to the library for a required orientation. Most of the students completed it, but not everyone did. We did not complete the independent reading, so we'll have to do that on Thursday/Friday. Otherwise, the library thing took me by surprise too.
We're reading three sections of a nine section story for tonight entitled, "How Much Land Does a Man Need?" It is on page 646 of his text, and he is reading up to page 653. Let me know if you have any questions.

P.S. I have reached the end of my limited patience for bad writing. Bring your notes tomorrow. It will keep my head from exploding. Thanks.

Here I Go Again....
It's another late night home. I'm really sorry if you're banking on me posting earlier. I keep trying to finish this on my planning period, but something always comes up. I'll find a rhythm yet.
Today, we completed the questions on "Two Friends" with a partner, and we started, but did not complete, my fabulous chip game. We'll spend about5 20 minutes finishing that tomorrow. Some of you need to speak up immediately!!!!
Tonight, you are answering this question: Did the two friends get what they deserved in the end? Why? Consider that they were on enemy territory, and consider that they did have a password.
See you tomorrow.

Weekends...
Yoy...I am almost forgot to post. I left school last evening very quickly, and some things went by the wayside. This was one of them.
Yesterday, Friday, we completed a quiz on "Two Friends." We also wrote a brief reading analysis, and then, we finished my introduction to better writing. This weekend, you are reading "Two Friends" if you haven't already done so, and then, you are enjoying the feeling of being homework free!

Tough Times and Tougher Truths
Hello...today, I gave you and intellectual beating, or sorts. I wanted you to see that for too long you have gone about your work in a far too careless way. I also wanted to show you that writing is a far more complex concept than you think. Finally, I wanted to offer you some practical advice on how to be a better writer.
Therefore, today we read for 30 minutes, examined your homework for last night, went over it, and then, we attempted to create a vision for good writing and good writers. Then, I tried to give you some practical tips to start you on the road to better writing. We'll finish that tomorrow.
Tonight, you are reading "Two Friends", which can be found on page 408 of your textbook. We will be taking a legitimately graded quiz on this tomorrow. See you then.

The Story Map
Today, we learned that creativity is really rather rare. I also learned that some of you have been taught very well. Either the rest of you are begin quiet, or you really don't know this information already. We'll see....
Today, we learned the elements of the story map, and we attempted to find examples from TOY STORY. That was an odd choice, but somehow, we made it work. Tonight, you are completing the story map handout that you started in class. If there are any questions, let me know.
Make certain that you have your independent reading with you tomorrow!!!

Late Night....
Ever so sorry again...I had business to attend to this evening, and I'm just getting home. Today, we finished Bloom's Taxonomy, and I gave my final clarification about the Academy expectations. Tomorrow, we'll start rolling!
Also, today, we discussed last night's writing, and invariably, I hope we learned something about "maturity." It's a dead subject as far as I'm concerned.... We also went to the library, took the SRI, and we completed our independent reading.
Tonight, we are answering the following in paragraph form. Might I suggest ink?

Ahh....a story about boys.... Today, we finished the Reading Diagnosis Test, took a quiz on "The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant", and then, we examined the effect of analyzing questions through the eyesight of Bloom's Taxonomy. We will finish that within first 15 minutes of class tomorrow.
Speaking of tomorrow, make certain that you bring your independent reading with you. We will definitely be traveling to the library to complete the SRI. Finally, for homework tonight, you are to respond to the following question in paragraph form:
WHY DO BOYS/MEN ALWAYS CHASE AFTER SOMETHING THEY KNOW THEY CANNOT HAVE?
See you tomorrow.
